AmasoAI Review: Can It Help You Get Cited and Recommended by AI?

In this article
AmasoAI review card: GEO score 83, 8 of 38 Claude checks citing the store, a 21.1% citation rate and 55 searches tracked on a live store
Featured graphic for the AmasoAI review, using results from a live store, Lens & Co by Tiara, between 29 September and 10 October 2026: a GEO score of 83, 8 citations in 38 Claude checks (21.1%) and 55 tracked searches.

In short: AmasoAI is worth it if you run a WordPress site and want to grow your presence in AI answers. It records whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude cite you for the questions you track, shows which domains win instead, and turns the gaps into a weekly to-do list and action plan. It works with the main AI models, including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, tracks Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, and connects to them through MCP. Plans start at $6.99 a month. Pro is listed at $14.99 on the pricing page and $29.99 in the shop, so confirm the price at checkout. AI usage can cost extra. It is not worth it if you are not on WordPress, if you expect citations without doing the work, or if you want a single “AI ranking” number. I used it on a live store, Lens & Co by Tiara, between 29 September and 10 October 2026. It recorded 8 citations in 38 Claude checks and showed which sources Claude read instead. Only Claude has data because the only AI I connected through MCP was a Claude Max account.

This review is for anyone deciding whether to pay for AmasoAI (the product calls itself AMASO). It covers what the tool does, what its dashboard showed on a real site, what it costs once API bills are counted, where it fell short, who it suits, and what to use instead. Every number from my own use comes from the dashboard screenshots below. Every claim about features, pricing and terms comes from AmasoAI’s public pages, read on 11 October 2026, and is marked as theirs.

Is AmasoAI worth it? The short verdict

Question Answer
What it is A WordPress plugin that tracks whether AI assistants cite your site for the questions you track, shows which domains they cite instead, and gives you a prioritised list of fixes to build more presence
Built by Operated by Fosia Ltd, Kigali, Rwanda. Main founder: Fokwa Siaka. I work in growth for AmasoAI
AI models ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude are the four engines named on its site. It also tracks Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, can work with other AI LLMs and connects to these tools through MCP
Price Free plan, then from $6.99 a month. Pro and Agency are priced differently on the pricing page and in the shop (see the pricing section). AI usage can cost extra
Best for WordPress site owners, SEO and GEO specialists and agencies who want a repeatable log of citations
Skip it if You are not on WordPress, you want sentiment analysis in the same tool (not on AmasoAI’s feature list), or you will not set up an AI connection
My verdict Yes for the price. It measures your AI citations and tells you what to fix next. You still do the work, and no tool can guarantee a citation or a recommendation

What is AmasoAI?

AmasoAI is a WordPress-native tool for growing your presence in AI answers. You list the questions your buyers ask, it runs those questions through the AI engines you have connected, and it records whether your domain appears as a cited source. It shows the competing domains that appeared instead, then tells you what to improve: a weekly to-do list, an action plan and page-level fixes. “Amaso” means “eyes” in Kinyarwanda, according to its About page. It is operated by Fosia Ltd, a digital agency in Kigali, Rwanda, and its main founder is Fokwa Siaka. I work in growth for AmasoAI.

The thing it can measure is citation. That matters because a citation and a recommendation are different events. A citation means the assistant used your page as a source. A recommendation means it named your business as the answer. AmasoAI records the first, shows which competitors are named instead, and gives you the to-do list to move toward the second.

What does AmasoAI actually do?

AmasoAI describes three views and one workflow. On the Lens & Co site I used the overview, the citation checks, the list of sources Claude consulted, the action plan and the site health to-do list.

  1. Overview. Citation rate, completed checks, tracked keywords and trends. On my account it also showed AI-referred requests.
  2. Action plan and missions. A weekly “to do this week” list, a full action plan (9 open items on my account) and a “mission” for each tracked search. Each item names the page, the problem and what to write, and links to the page to edit.
  3. Query evidence. For each tracked question, how many times you were cited and by which engine.
  4. Share of voice. Which competing domains the engines surfaced when you were not cited.
  5. Optimize and reports. Schema, llms.txt, FAQs, branded reports and client reporting. I did not run these on the Lens & Co site, so they have their own section below, based on what AmasoAI publishes.
AmasoAI Query Evidence table from the vendor’s example account listing keywords, citation counts, checks and AI engines
AmasoAI’s Query Evidence view. This is AmasoAI’s own example account from its product page, not my data. Each row shows the exact question, how many times it was cited, how many checks ran, which engine cited it and when.
AmasoAI Share of Voice view from the vendor’s example account: 8.7% citation rate, 15 citations in 172 checks, 2 AI engines
AmasoAI’s overview and Share of Voice view. Also AmasoAI’s own example account: 15 citations in 172 checks, and a panel showing which domains the AI engines used instead of the site.

Does AmasoAI work with every AI model, and what is MCP?

AmasoAI is not tied to one assistant. The engines named on its site are ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude. It also tracks Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, which its public engine list does not mention, and it can work with other AI large language models (LLMs) as well. You connect these tools to it through MCP, the Model Context Protocol. MCP is an open-source standard for connecting AI applications to external systems, including data sources and tools, and assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT support it. Anthropic introduced it in November 2024 to replace one-off custom integrations with a single standard.

Here is why that matters when you are choosing a tool:

  • You are not locked into one AI. The assistants your buyers use change. A tool that works across models lets you check the one that matters this quarter, not just the one the vendor picked.
  • Your own AI tools can work with it. Through MCP, an assistant you already use can connect to AmasoAI, rather than you copying numbers between dashboards.
  • Cross-checking becomes routine. Citation depends on the engine, so comparing the same question across several models is the right habit, and SparkToro’s research on inconsistent AI answers is the reason.

One caution. AmasoAI’s public pages list four engines and do not yet describe the Google AI tracking or the MCP connection, and its terms mention API keys from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and Perplexity. Before you pay, ask support or read the plugin documentation for the exact MCP setup steps and for any extra cost. On the Lens & Co site, the only AI I connected through MCP was a Claude Max account, which is why only Claude has recorded checks. Each model you want covered is its own connection to set up.

What do AmasoAI’s Optimize, Reports and Agent features do?

I did not run these on the Lens & Co site, so this section reports what AmasoAI’s product page, pricing page and shop listings say, and marks where those pages are silent.

Optimize

AmasoAI calls this its WordPress optimization workflow. The product page lists three things:

Reports and client reporting

AmasoAI describes reports as dated and shareable records of what was checked, what appeared and where the gap is. By plan, per its shop listings: Starter gets AMASO-branded PDF reports, Pro adds white-label reports and a client portal, and Agency adds up to 10 sites, priority support and a reseller and agency white-label programme. This is the feature that suits agencies. If you sell monitoring to clients, a repeatable report is the product.

Alerts and integrations

The shop lists unlimited Share of Voice with alerts and a Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4 integration on Pro, against three-competitor Share of Voice on Starter.

GEO Autopilot

The shop lists “GEO Autopilot” runs: 1 a month on Pro and 4 a month on Agency. AmasoAI’s public pages do not say what a run does. Ask support before you count it as a reason to buy.

The Agent button

I did not use it for this review. The purple Agent button at the bottom right of my dashboard screenshots appears on every screen of that WordPress admin, including the WooCommerce and Plugins pages, so it looks like the AI agent that Hostinger provides with its hosting, not part of AmasoAI. The way I connected AI to AmasoAI was MCP, covered above.

What did AmasoAI show on a real site?

I ran AmasoAI on Lens & Co by Tiara, a Lagos eyewear store whose content went live between 28 September and 8 October 2026. The store was on the Pro plan with 55 tracked searches. The dashboard below is from 10 October 2026.

AmasoAI GEO visibility dashboard: AI assistants cited Lens & Co by Tiara in 4 of 25 checks in the week to 10 October 2026
The AmasoAI Overview in the Lens & Co WordPress admin, 10 October 2026. This week: 4 of 25 checks cited. The week before: 4 of 13. Over 30 days, 1 of 55 tracked searches earned at least one citation.
Measure What AmasoAI recorded
Sampled citation rate 21.1% (8 of 38 checks), all recorded data since 29 September
This week against last week 4 of 25 checks cited, against 4 of 13
Tracked keywords 55, each mapped to one target page
Tracked searches cited at least once in 30 days 1 of 55
AI-referred requests, 30 days 2, both from ChatGPT
GEO score 83, with completeness at 75
Average Google position No data. AmasoAI had difficulty reading the site’s sitemap
AmasoAI summary: Lens & Co by Tiara has a 21.1% sampled citation rate, 8 of 38 Claude checks, and 55 keywords tracked
AmasoAI summary cards, 10 October 2026: a 21.1% sampled citation rate from 8 of 38 checks, two AI-referred requests in 30 days, and 55 keywords tracked. The Google position card is blank because AmasoAI had difficulty reading the site’s sitemap.

The AI Citation Trend chart, 29 September to 8 October 2026. Dark bars are cited checks and pale bars are checks where the site was not cited.

The source table is the most useful feature

The part that changed what I did next was the list of sites Claude consulted during those checks. A citation rate tells you that you won sometimes. The source list tells you who won the rest and why.

Site Claude consulted Times consulted
Jumia 27
BaaWA 8
U-Buy 8
Jiji 7
Grok Brand 6
AllMart Nigeria 5
Lens & Co by Tiara 5
Mint Eyewear 1

Marketplaces dominated what Claude read, and Lens & Co already appeared ahead of Mint Eyewear, its closest brand rival. That is a decision-ready finding: the next gains come from more pages that answer specific buying questions, not from chasing Jumia’s authority. The full story, including the Google rankings and ChatGPT answer, is in the Lens & Co case study.

The site health list gave a concrete to-do list

The weekly to-do list flagged thin pages in plain language. Two examples from the dashboard: the homepage had “very little text (0 words, at least 150 expected)”, and a page titled “How Much Do Blue Light Glasses Cost in Nigeria?” had 24 words against a minimum of 300. Each came with the advice to say plainly what you do, who it is for, how it works and what it costs, because AI engines can only quote what is written. That matches Google’s guidance on helpful, people-first content, so I treated it as a sensible checklist rather than a score to chase.

What does AmasoAI do well?

  1. It tells you what to do next. The weekly to-do list and action plan point at specific pages and say what is missing, so the data turns into work you can assign. It is the difference between knowing you are not cited and knowing which page to rewrite.
  2. It shows evidence, not just a number. Each result links back to the question that produced it, and the source list names the domains that were cited instead. That is the difference between a vanity score and a to-do list.
  3. It labels its numbers honestly. The headline is a “sampled citation rate”, with a “how these numbers are measured” note beside it. The dashboard also says AI citations are measured separately and that Google rankings do not guarantee inclusion in AI answers. That is the right way to present noisy data, and it matches SparkToro’s research on how rarely AI tools repeat the same brand list.
  4. It is inexpensive. Pro is $14.99 a month. Semrush’s AI visibility add-on, for comparison, starts at $99 a month (see the comparison below).
  5. It lives inside WordPress. The tracking, the page-level fixes and the pages being tracked sit in one admin, which suits small teams with no data analyst.
  6. Its terms are clear about what it cannot do. The terms state that scores, checklists and citation checks are “heuristic indicators, not proof of citation or a promise of results”. I would trust a tool that says so more than one that promises rankings.

What are the downsides of AmasoAI?

  1. Each AI engine is its own connection, and only Claude was connected on my account. AmasoAI’s terms say its citation checks use a key from a supported provider such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or Perplexity, and that you pay the provider directly. On the Lens & Co site I connected AmasoAI through MCP to a Claude Max account, so Claude is the only engine with recorded checks. The scheduled ChatGPT and Gemini checks did not run: the OpenAI account had no credits left and the Gemini model name was out of date. Perplexity was not configured. The 21.1% rate is therefore a Claude-only figure, and the ChatGPT answer in the case study is a manual capture. Plan time for setup and keep an eye on provider credits.
  2. The sample was small and narrow. 38 checks, almost all on the keyword “blue light glasses”. Only 1 of 55 tracked searches earned a citation in 30 days. The tool did not hide this, but a reader who only saw “21.1%” would overestimate coverage.
  3. Google position data was missing because of a sitemap problem. The average Google position card was blank and the SEO position trend said “no SEO ranking data yet”. The cause was that AmasoAI had difficulty reading the site’s sitemap, so this was a setup problem on my site rather than a missing feature. Check that your sitemap loads cleanly before you rely on the Google data.
  4. It is WordPress only. If your site runs on Shopify, Webflow or a custom stack, it is not an option.
  5. The public pricing details disagree with each other. On 11 October 2026 the pricing page lists Pro at $14.99 and Agency at $49.99 a month, while the shop lists Pro at $29.99 and Agency at $79.99. The Free plan card says 5 tracked keywords, while the FAQ below it says 3, and an older Fosia shop listing for “Amaso Lite” shows 25 keywords with placeholder text. Confirm the price and limits in your cart before you pay.
  6. No baseline before the work started. That is my miss, not the tool’s, but it is a common trap: if you do not record a starting snapshot, you cannot prove improvement later.

How much does AmasoAI cost?

The pricing page and the shop show different prices for Pro and Agency, so this table gives both, read on 11 October 2026. The shop is where checkout happens, so treat its price as the one you are likely to pay, and confirm it in your cart.

Plan Pricing page, monthly Shop, monthly Shop, annual Tracked keywords and checks What the plan adds
Free $0 $0.00 Not applicable 5 on the plan card, 3 in the FAQ First baseline, automatic JSON-LD, generated llms.txt
Starter $6.99 $6.99 $89.99 Up to 25, weekly checks Three-competitor Share of Voice, AMASO-branded PDF reports
Pro $14.99 (recommended) $29.99 $199.99 Up to 100, daily checks Unlimited Share of Voice and alerts, white-label reports and client portal, FAQ generator, Search Console and GA4 integration, 1 GEO Autopilot run a month
Agency $49.99 $79.99 $767.90 Unlimited keywords (shop), up to 10 sites, daily checks Everything in Pro, 4 GEO Autopilot runs a month, priority support, reseller and agency white-label programme

Costs that sit outside the table:

  • AI usage. The pricing page says AI-provider usage is billed separately through your own API keys. How much that is depends on each provider’s rates and how many checks you run, so set a spending limit in each provider account. I connected Claude through MCP to a Claude Max account rather than through an API key, so check the usage limits on whichever AI account you connect.
  • Auto-renewal. The terms say subscriptions renew automatically and that you can cancel at any time from your account, with the cancellation taking effect at the end of the billing period.
  • Refunds. The terms allow a full refund within 7 days of a charge for a paid plan, by emailing support@amasoai.com.

The Free plan needs no credit card and is listed as free forever, although the terms say AmasoAI may change or discontinue it with reasonable notice. The lowest-risk path is to install the free plan, run your first checks and upgrade only if the evidence is useful. Even at the shop’s Pro price of $29.99 a month, AmasoAI costs far less than Semrush’s AI Visibility Toolkit, which starts at $99 a month, as long as you accept WordPress only and four named engines.

Is the AmasoAI GEO score reliable?

Treat it as a checklist, not a verdict. The score for my Lens & Co site was 83 with completeness at 75. The gap between the two showed where the next fixes sat, which is useful. But AmasoAI’s own terms say its scores are heuristic indicators, and Google says there are no additional requirements to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode, and that you do not need new machine-readable files, AI text files or markup to appear in them. So a high score does not mean AI engines will cite you. Citation depends on your pages, your authority and the competition, which is what the share-of-voice table measures.

The same caution applies to any tool in this category. SparkToro’s study of 2,961 prompts across ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Overviews found that the same brand list almost never repeats. The authors advise asking any provider to show how it handles that variation. The sensible way to read AmasoAI is as a sampled rate over many checks across many dates, which is how it presents itself.

Who should use AmasoAI?

Use it if

  • Your site runs on WordPress and you want a repeatable record of citations rather than one-off screenshots.
  • You are a business owner, SEO or GEO specialist or agency who needs to show a client which questions earn citations and which competitors win the rest.
  • You are comfortable creating API keys and watching provider credits.
  • You are willing to act on a to-do list: write the missing pages, fix thin content and re-test.

Skip it if

  • You are not on WordPress.
  • You need brand sentiment analysis in one product. It is not on AmasoAI’s feature list.
  • You want a tool that creates the content and the rankings for you. AmasoAI did not write the shop, set prices or run the store. It showed where to look and what to build next.
  • You have fewer than a dozen questions that matter to you. Checking them by hand with the 30-minute ChatGPT test is free.

How does AmasoAI compare with the alternatives?

Option Engines it covers Cost model Best for
AmasoAI ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, plus other LLMs and MCP connections Free to $79.99 a month (shop prices), plus AI usage WordPress sites that want citation evidence at low cost
AICitare ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Grok and Ollama Free plugin; API keys are optional Tinkerers who want a free GEO score. It is new, with under 10 active installs when I checked
Ahrefs Brand Radar Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot, Gemini, Claude Custom prompts come with a paid Ahrefs plan; a larger index is sold separately Teams already paying for Ahrefs
Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity, DeepSeek From $99 a month per domain as an add-on to a paid Semrush plan Larger teams that already use Semrush
Manual testing Whatever you open Free, but your time Small question sets, and a sanity check for any tool

The honest summary: if you already pay for Ahrefs or Semrush, start with the AI features you already own. If you run WordPress and do not, AmasoAI is the cheapest way I know to get a dated log of citations by question. Whatever you choose, keep a manual check as your control. My method for it is in how to check what ChatGPT says about your business.

How do you get value from AmasoAI in the first 30 days?

  1. Take a baseline first. Record the date, the engines and your current citation rate before you change any page. Save screenshots.
  2. Write real buyer questions. Use the words customers use, including price, trust and location questions. Group each question with one target page, as in the Lens & Co one-search-one-page plan.
  3. Connect each engine you care about, with a spending limit. Use an API key or MCP, test each connection with one check before you rely on scheduled runs, and watch for expired credits and outdated model names, which stopped ChatGPT and Gemini on my account. Only the Claude connection produced data.
  4. Check that AmasoAI can read your sitemap. It was the reason my Google position data was blank. Make sure the sitemap loads cleanly and lists your key pages before you start tracking.
  5. Fix the thin pages it flags. State plainly what you offer, for whom, how it works and what it costs. Then check your robots.txt allows the AI crawlers and that your schema markup matches the visible page.
  6. Read the source list, not just the rate. Look at who is cited instead of you and write the pages they are winning with. The guide to getting cited by ChatGPT covers what to write.
  7. Re-test on a schedule. Compare like with like: same questions, same engines, same settings, repeated over several weeks.

What is the bottom line on AmasoAI?

AmasoAI does one job well for its price: it turns “are we visible in AI?” from a guess into a dated record with evidence behind it. At Starter prices, or Pro at the pricing page’s $14.99, that is a fair trade if you run WordPress and will act on what it shows. Pro at the shop’s $29.99 is still reasonable against the alternatives. It tells you what to fix but you still do the fixing, it does not cover Google’s own AI features, and the setup has traps, so go in with the manual test as your control and confirm the plan limits at checkout. If you want the result without running the tool yourself, this is the work I do.

Frequently asked questions

Is AmasoAI free?

There is a free plan at $0 a month with no credit card. The pricing page's plan card says it includes 5 tracked keywords, while the FAQ on the same page says 3, so confirm the limit when you install. Paid plans start at $6.99 a month. Pro is listed at $14.99 on the pricing page and $29.99 in the shop, and Agency at $49.99 and $79.99, so confirm the price in your cart. AI usage is billed separately when you connect through API keys.

Can AmasoAI help me get cited and recommended by AI?

It can show you what to change. It records which questions you are and are not cited for, shows who is cited instead, and lists specific page fixes in a weekly to-do list and action plan. Whether that earns more citations depends on your pages, your authority and the competition. AmasoAI does not guarantee citations or recommendations.

What does AmasoAI do?

AmasoAI is a WordPress plugin that checks whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude cite your website for questions you track, shows the competing domains they cite instead, and gives you a weekly to-do list and action plan of page fixes to build more presence. It records observable results and does not guarantee citations.

Can I connect AmasoAI to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Perplexity through MCP?

Yes. AmasoAI can work with all of the main AI LLMs, and you connect these tools to it through MCP, the open Model Context Protocol. On Lens & Co the only AI I connected through MCP was a Claude Max account, which is why only Claude has data. AmasoAI's public pages do not yet document the MCP steps, so check the plugin documentation or ask support for the setup instructions and any extra cost before you buy.

Which AI engines does AmasoAI check, and does it track Google AI Overviews?

ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude are the four engines named on its site. AmasoAI also tracks Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, which its public pages do not list, and it can work with other AI LLMs through MCP. On the Lens & Co site only Claude has recorded checks, because that was the only AI connected.

What do AmasoAI's Optimize and Reports features do?

According to AmasoAI, Optimize generates JSON-LD schema, generates and maintains an llms.txt file and drafts FAQs that a person approves before publishing. Reports are dated, shareable records: AMASO-branded PDFs on Starter, white-label reports and a client portal on Pro, and reseller white-label options on Agency. I did not run these on the Lens & Co site.

Do I need API keys or MCP to connect AI to AmasoAI?

You connect AI to AmasoAI to run citation checks. Its terms describe bring-your-own API keys from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or Perplexity, billed by the provider, and AmasoAI can also be connected through MCP. On the Lens & Co site I connected a Claude Max account through MCP, so only Claude has recorded checks. The ChatGPT and Gemini checks did not run because of expired credits and an outdated model name.

Does AmasoAI work without WordPress?

No. It is built as a WordPress plugin, so sites on Shopify, Webflow or a custom stack cannot use it.

Does AmasoAI guarantee that AI will cite or recommend my business?

No. AmasoAI states that it cannot guarantee that any AI provider will cite, rank or recommend a website, and its terms call scores and citation checks heuristic indicators, not proof of results.

Is the AmasoAI GEO score reliable?

Treat it as a checklist. On the Lens & Co site the GEO score was 83 with completeness at 75, and the gap showed where the next fixes were. Google says there are no special requirements to appear in AI Overviews, so a high score does not mean you will be cited.

How accurate is the AmasoAI citation rate?

It is a sampled rate, so it depends on how many checks ran and on which questions. On Lens & Co it was 21.1% from 8 of 38 Claude checks, almost all on one keyword, and only 1 of 55 tracked searches had a citation in 30 days. Research by SparkToro found AI tools rarely repeat the same brand list, so judge a trend over many checks, not a single run.

Can I get a refund on AmasoAI?

The terms allow a full refund within 7 days of being charged for a paid plan, by emailing support@amasoai.com. Subscriptions renew automatically and can be cancelled from your account, with effect at the end of the billing period.

Who makes AmasoAI, and is this review independent?

AmasoAI is operated by Fosia Ltd, a digital agency in Kigali, Rwanda, and its main founder is Fokwa Siaka. The author of this review, Victor Olanrewaju, works in growth for AmasoAI, so it is not an independent review. It reports the downsides and where AmasoAI's own pages disagree, and every claim about features, pricing and terms is sourced to AmasoAI's public pages.

Is AmasoAI better than Ahrefs Brand Radar or Semrush?

They suit different buyers. Ahrefs and Semrush are sold on top of paid SEO plans and have wider feature sets. AmasoAI is a lower-cost WordPress plugin focused on citation evidence and a to-do list for improving it, and it also tracks Google AI Overviews and AI Mode. If you already pay for Ahrefs or Semrush, use their AI features first.

Is AmasoAI worth it for a small business?

Yes if the site runs on WordPress, you can connect at least one AI and you will fix the pages it flags. Plans start at $6.99 a month, with Pro at $14.99 or $29.99 depending on whether you read the pricing page or the shop. If you only care about a handful of questions, a manual check in each assistant is free.
